How well do you focus? Test your brain and torment your friends. Try to answer the puzzle of the week as quickly as you can.
Every week you'll find a criptic conundrum designed to trip you up and catch you out, but any genius able to think laterally should be able to crack it. If you think you're up to it and want to take up the challenge, go ahead! Give your answer by Friday! Your teacher will tell you if you are right.
Here's the question for this week (starting on Monday, 9th November 2009):
1. If you had only one match, and entered a room in which there was a kerosene lamp, a gas stove and a wood fire, which would you light first?
hristo:
ResponderEliminarThe would fire because when the fire ends there are embers, and you can burn the other things with the embers.

ResponderEliminarI light the kerosene lamp because the others are already burning
Why do I need a match, when I have a wood fire?
ResponderEliminarAnd with a wood fire in a room I will die.
I agree with Hristo, but you should write 'wood' fire instead of 'would' fire =D. If you want to improve your English you have to read better than you´re doing right now. By the way, I think the answer is the next one: first you should burn the wood fire, and with those flames you could light the other things. (Víctor-Raúl--B-)
ResponderEliminarwe think that we must spread the kerosene on everything and then burn it with the matchwe think that we must spread the kerosene on everything and then burn it with the match!
ResponderEliminarMaybe i will fire everything at the same time... or I wouldn`t light any fire.. i dont want burn me for example with the wood fire...

ResponderEliminarWe think that we ignite first the lamp to be able to see the different thing. The fire of fuelwood is flushed(passionate).

It's obvious, first I would light the match, if I light the match I could light the kerosene lamp, the gas stove and the wood fire... :)
